Behind the scenes with Jimmy Smits at a Capitol Fourth

BEHIND THE SCENES: AT A CAPITOL FOURTH CONCERT WITH HOST JIMMY SMITS

DC on HEELS is giving YOU a backstage pass and a behind the scenes look of what goes on at a Capitol Fourth Concert the day before one of the biggest events held on the west lawn of the Capitol Building. Check out my interview with Emmy award and Golden Globe winning actor Jimmy Smits.

And stay tuned for my interview with the hottest classic pianist on the planet--chinese classic pianist-- Lang Lang. You may remember Lang Lang from 2008 where he was viewed by 5 billion (yes I said billion) at the 2008 Summer Olympics during Beijing's opening ceremony. Lang Lang was promoted as a symbol of youth and future for China. I also chatted with his mom who was so sweet and proud of her talented son. She was explaining to me in her limited English and my non-existent Chinese what her son's name meant. Stay tuned to find out what his name means!!!

That was a blast. M and I had so much fun interviewing all of the stars and fans at A Capitol Fourth Concert. I hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July! Stay cool because those temps are still rising. We broke a record today at BWI with temperatures being clocked at 104 degrees. Don't worry we have some delicious frozen drink recipes coming up for Friday's post. So don't melt!
